Walsh, a 7,200-acre community development in west Fort Worth, announced four initial homebuilders for the first phase of the neighborhood: Fort Worth-based Village Homes, Highland Homes, Houston-based David Weekly Homes and Drees Custom Homes.
The initial phase will consist of 580 homes, ultimately expanding to over 15,000 homes. Construction on model homes starts next month and presales are set to begin early next year as the models are scheduled to be completed by Spring 2017. Home prices within the initial phase will start at the upper $200s, with lots ranging from 3,800 square-feet to just shy of an acre.
Walsh is located where I-20 and I-30 merge, at Walsh Ranch Parkway, 12 minutes from downtown Fort Worth. The neighborhood will be served by a 10,000 square-foot gym, family pool and lap pool, recreational lake and miles of hiking and walking trails. Homes are zoned for the Aledo Independent School District. In fact, a new elementary school is set to open at Walsh for the 2017-18 school year.
Republic Property Group will develop the residential community. Co-CEO Jake Wagner said the group plans to preserve the land’s natural characteristics, from elevation changes to prairie and creek systems.
