Aledo ISD broke ground on Walsh Elementary in the heart of our community on Wednesday, September 7.
It was a very exciting milestone as it marks our first school in the neighborhood. Education is one of the cornerstones of Walsh. Whether it be for the children who live here, or the adults who wish to pursue lifelong education, we believe great places to live offer all sorts of educational opportunities.
This elementary school is the first of several schools that will be built over the years in our neighborhood. Aledo ISD’s fifth elementary school will be beautiful, modern, and feature a variety of learning spaces that support student collaboration and exploration. Robust technology, learning walls and transparency between the classrooms are the central collaboration areas that will support all styles of learning and an assortment of student teams.
Each classroom has an abundance of natural light and outdoor views that encourage students’ connection with nature and environmental learning. Flexible classrooms that support STEM curriculum are provided with direct access to outdoor learning areas. Faculty will benefit from the introduction of grade-level and cross-grade-level planning workrooms.
We are so proud to have such an amazing facility as part of our neighborhood. We will support its curriculum and students in the best ways we can, and promote learning in both natural and technologically-advanced settings. We believe our students are the future of Fort Worth and North Texas, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them included in the future of Walsh.
